There used to be a lot of abandoned claims, dry wells and other evidence of human activity in this area. Las Vegas isn’t known for it’s preserving the past very well, the land values here make this structure lot less worth saving and more profitable to remove and fill in. I have no idea who built this and lived or worked here or any information on when it was built or abandoned.
Southern Paiute inhabited area long before the arrival of the first Europeans.
1776 – “Spanish Explorers” came through southern Nevada.
1855 – Mormons arrive in Las Vegas and establish fort.
1857 – Mormons abandon fort.
1864 – Nevada is admitted to the Union by President Lincoln.
